FAQs
How much time will it require?
We require a minimum of 1 clean up a month at your chosen location, which usually last for 2 hours. Take into account preparation of the equipment and clean down. The total time will be half a day as a minimum although a lot of volunteer leaders help us fund raise and lots of other helpful actions.
Do you have to live by the sea to join your project?
Absolutely not, we work with individuals across the globe on every canal, river and waterbody that lays across the land, out project is active as much in Central London as well as the Caribbean islands.
Are you open to new ideas?
Yes, we listen to our leaders as you are on the ground and know the needs of your community.
Will you train me up?
Yes, we are here to support you, we will come out to your location and help you set up the first clean up and go through the initial stages, so its been conducted safely and efficiently.
Does it cost me anything?
No, we will help you come up with a fundraising plan to help you gather support from your local shop and businesses to help fund the equipment and start up costs, although some of our volunteer leaders are happy to invest in their own equipment.
How old do I have to be?
The minimum age to lead a UOcean® Clean up is 18 Years old.
Are you events COVID-19 safe?
We try our best, our events are all held outdoors in fresh air, we maintain social distancing measures and sanitise all our equipment pre-event.
Will you require a DBS?
Yes, our entire UOcean® Volunteer Leaders are DBS checked and character referenced.
